During the frozen months, Raymer’s Ravine is the best place on campus to experience the beauty of a Wisconsin Winter. With its sandstone cliffs and its glistening icicles, it’s well worth braving the cold for a visit. It is not only a stunning natural area during the winter, but also a noteworthy sight any time of year. As part of UW-Madison’s Nature Lakeshore Preserve, you can hike to Raymer’s Cove along the Lakeshore Path. However, located at 2900 Lake Mendota Drive, there is also a parking lot for quick access.
